What happens at EconoMe?

Images of our speakers

We learn from speakers who personify the #1 rule of the EconoMe stage: Authenticity

Everyone has a unique set of circumstances, skills, and preferences that drive them to pursue FI differently. The diversity in the EconoMe speaker lineup demonstrates that there isn’t a “right way” to pursue FIRE. Check out all the speeches from EconoMe on our YouTube channel!

An EconoMe interactive session

We deep dive into more complex topics during our 2 hour workshops

These sessions are basically a combination of a more formal presentation (like you see on the main stage) as well as opportunity for Q&A and discussion (like you see in our smaller breakout sessions). Past topics include real estate investing, optimizing taxes, and withdrawal strategies in retirement.

An EconoMe breakout session

We tap into the knowledge of fellow EconoMe attendees via breakout sessions

Not only do we learn from our awesome speakers and workshop leaders, but we learn from each other! Through our breakout sessions, we discuss topics such as entrepreneurship, FI healthcare options, side hustles, minimalism & simplicity, and optimizing credit card points.

We help bring FIRE to the big screen!

EconoMe 2021 attendees supported the newest FIRE documentary by participating in interviews, and then we got to watch it together in a 200 person packed theater during EconoMe 2023. Seeking Fire is a feature documentary about how financial independence can fuel passion.

An EconoMe breakout session

We explore the great city of Cincinnati!

Is there any doubt that Cincinnati, the lowest cost of living metro area in the US, is also THE BEST city to pursue financial independence? We see firsthand what makes this city so great via a 3-hour walking tour facilitated by our friends at Urban Rangers. We’ve also facilitated brewery tours, unique experiences like fowling, and a charted bus tour for real estate investors.

Sharing is caring!

For many of us, personal finance books have contributed or our knowledge and motivation to pursue financial independence. So we share the wealth by sharing our favorite books via the EconoMe Conference Sharing Library!

Better with friends

We believe that FI is Better with Friends!

EconoMe is as much about community as it is about learning and inspiration. There are a ton of social activities to help you find your new best friend! We kick off Friday night with a speed friendshipping activity, we play board games and trivia, we fowl (like bowling, but with footballs), and we grab beers at our favorite brewery.

Don’t take it from us! Listen in as one EconoMe attendee, Brenda Olmos, shares her experience of attending the conference

And check out all our five star Google reviews!
