James Lowery, founder of Rethink the Rat Race, discovered the FIRE movement in 2016 and was immediately hooked. He and his wife focused on real estate investing and bought their first rental property in 2017. After two years of intense frugality and investing, the two of them had enough passive income to retire at 28 & 29 years old and focus on living life on their own terms. Now, James primarily spends his time balancing his love of fitness and pizza while traveling and managing their small real estate portfolio.
